These days, as standards of living continue to rise, cars have become necessary items to people who are living in modern times, and this has led to the roads being crowded with cars we bring in. Some people believe that both governments and individuals are responsible for solving the problem of traffic congestion. In this essay, I will lay out the possible solution of reducing congestion and estimate their potential effectiveness.
First of all, what governments need to do is to keep continuously warning people about the seriousness of traffic conditions in commuting time, which has risen significantly over the last few decades. They may use TV or Radio commercials to do that like health organizations which often release public commercials on TV to remind people of rapidly increasing obesity problems. Constructing more convenient facilities for bicycle commuter could be another answer. For example, new bicycle lane for the roads that do not have one, broadening it as far as the road can afford to and a parking lot with security in the centre of the town or city so that commuters can keep their bicycle safely during work time. Finally, despite the fact that governments has been trying to make enormous efforts to build new roads, that the drivers always want more would be needless to say.
Apart from what governments should do to reduce congestion, there are a few things required from individuals. In the first, we need to try to use public transportation as much as possible in lieu of our own cars. Secondly, using bicycles can be a good way of following the governments procedure for solving problems. Last but not least, we can work earlier in the morning to avoid the traffic congestion that happens every day.
Therefor, it is my belief that the governments strategy to reduce congestion will never succeed if individuals are not aware the seriousness of present situation and keep ignoring it to pursue only their own convenience.
